Misty Fjords Executive

Misty Fjords National Monument is 2.3 million acres of rugged wilderness, awe- inspiring geography and spectacular beauty. It has been called ‘The Grand Canyon of the North’ and is, simply put, breathtaking.

Our experienced ground staff will personally escort you to our private seaplane base, and introduce you to your veteran Seaplane Captain. You will board one of our executive-class floatplanes, configured for your comfort and pleasure. Large bubble windows afford you an eagle’s eye view of the endless landscapes below and spectacular photo opportunities. Your tour is personally narrated by your captain via state of the art, voice-activated, noise-cancelling headsets to enhance your experience.

Once airborne our flight path takes us over the 700,000 acre expanse of Revillagigedo Island and the Tongass National Forest. We’ll soar across the 100 mile stretch of Behm Canal which cuts its way through the wilderness dividing Revillagigedo Island from mainland Alaska. See famous New Eddystone Rock, an imposing volcanic spire and reminder of ancient geological activity.

Misty Fjords stopover

We then fly into the 2.3 million acre National Monument. This pristine country is considered to be one of the last untouched landscapes on the planet and is guaranteed to overwhelm your senses. See massive vertical rock formations, snow capped peaks 3,000 to 6,000 feet high and cascading waterfalls reaching into deep freshwater lakes and saltwater fjords. We frequently see Black Bear, Grizzly Bear, Mountain Goats, Bald Eagles, and Whales in this isolated setting. Your experience will be complete when the pilot touches down on one of the many waterways within the monument to allow you a closer look at the landscape. Don't forget your camera, as we frequently view Alaskan wildlife up close and personal! Sunglasses, suitable waterproof outerwear and comfortable footwear are recommended for this excursion.

There are few opportunities in life to experience such untamed wilderness. Don’t miss your chance to see it up close, with one of Alaska’s legendary seaplane pilots. Misty Fjords Air is holding your ticket to a lifetime of unique memories.
